Two months later...

Yeeeah, so that went well. Hello! It's been about two months since I last blogged, and funnily enough things have actually changed since then. Last week I popped over to the registrar and declared my major as Graphic Design. I like my school, and so far the professors I've had in the department have been great. I can suck it up and deal with the Art History courses. Cool thing about that, in the time I've waited to declare, they changed the curriculum and now only 4 AH courses are required! One less to suffer through, haha.

I started a new job in September, I'm now a part-time teller at TD Bank. It's been going well, but with it and school and a bunch of homework I'm always busy. It's tiring and I have no time for things I want to do for me. I want to get back into web design, I want to read books that aren't for school, I want to watch TV shows and movies, I want to cook. I wanted to participate in NaNoWriMo again, but no way that was happening. I've realized that going to school and working just plain sucks (yeah, I'm a little late to notice). So one day I did some math... If I continue working at my current pay and hours through next summer and don't make any major purchases or anything, I should save enough to pay for tuition through Spring 2013, when I'm expecting to graduate. That would mean four semesters of school work-free, at a time when I'm digging into my major. The fact that this might be a possibility excites me. I think being able to focus on school like that, I'd finally really enjoy it.

I figure if I really want to, I could attempt to transfer to FIT later, right into one of their Bachelor's programs instead of wasting a year just for an AAS. But ultimately I think I'll just stick around Queens, especially if I can do so without work as an extra burden, and could take classes more than two days a week without it feeling like too much.

So a year from now I might be just a student. I'm gonna stay hopeful for that, and keep on truckin' along in the meantime!
